BRTE XII-NATO trains aircrews and Forward Air Controllers NATO trains aircrews and Forward Air Controllers On 29 and 30 May 2012, Headquarters Allied Air Command Ramstein conducts Baltic Region Training Event (BRTE) XII in the skies over the Baltic Sea and in Latvia, specifically. BRTE XII offers a realistic Baltic Air Policing (BAP) scenario for the NATO Quick Reaction Alert (Intercept) QRA(I) squadron.  The Polish Air Force has taken over the BAP mission at the end of April and deployed their MiG-29 fighters from Malbork Air Base, Poland, to Šiauliai Air Base, Lithuania for four months. The training will involve intercept as well as simulated weapons jettison and crew ejection procedures. Read the Full Story
BRTE XI successfully conducted. NATO and Partner air forces finish training for safety in Baltic airspace Šiauliai, 29 March 12 – The eleventh sequel of the Baltic Region Training Event (BRTE XI) was completed on 28 March when all assets involved in the event were safely back at their home bases. The two-day training event brought together German Phantom fighter aircraft and Swedish Gripen as well as Finnish Hornet jets in the Baltic region to execute a scenario where a Lithuanian Spartan transport aircraft simulated a loss of communication above international waters in the Baltic Sea. Multinational Cooperation During NATO Training Event

Ramstein, 1 June 2012 – On 29 and 30 May, Headquarters Allied Air Command Ramstein (HQ AC Ramstein) completed the Baltic Region Training Event (BRTE) XII at the Adazi Training Area some 15 kms southeast of Riga, Latvia. The event which was aimed at providing training opportunities to NATO’s Forward Air Controllers (FACs) and Air Policing assets.
